Life through the lens...

Runswick Bay

( Try Large)
Have just come back from a lovely day out with friends.
Exhausted!!

We have packed so much into today.

First stop up to Great Ayton in North Yorkshire.
Pork pies, and pasties bought for a very good butcher in the village, along with cherries, bananas, peaches from the greengrocers. Coconut macaroons from the bakers. Then a picnic by the river.
It was lovely to see the children with fishing nets, some paddling, and some in a little rowing boat. All enjoying a day out, and a picnic.
Happy families!

Then drove to Runswick bay, which is where I took this photo.
I didn't know the camera was on the wrong setting!
Walk along the beach, and a paddle in the sea!
Back for tea and scones at the café.

Last stop Grosmont, and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, for some train spotting!
We all enjoy the steam trains, although just missed the star.......Sir Nigel Gresley!

Then back over the moors where I hoped the heather would be out, but was very disappointed as there wasn't much colour, and a lot seemed to have been burnt. (though not recently). We may have been too early.

Fortunately MrC stayed awake on the way home, as he was driving!
The rest of us kept nodding off!

I think we will all sleep well!
