Promising

My well established peony looks ready to open fully. It was here when I arrived, 17 years ago.  The ones I’ve planted since haven’t flourished.

I had the window open last night and around 3.15 I heard a bird. I set Merlin on it, although I was pretty sure I recognised it. Yes. A tawny owl.  

Reading in the garden, I was told by Merlin that a Sparrowhawk was around. I’m glad he didn’t come to call….
