Poppies at the Tower

Swans on the line !

That was today’s excuse for delays on the trains into Euston. It was a new one for me - and it was causing havoc.

Delay repay - yet again.
I claim on principle but I’d much rather arrive somewhere near on time.

London was pretty full.  It took ages for the number  15 to the Tower to arrive. My return, on a delightful Routemaster, was very different. The conductor told me the trouble was that two of the new buses on that route had broken down. Good old Routemasters (even if they don’t take bus passes).

They have far fewer poppies than the last time we saw them at the Tower of London. This time they are mainly displayed inside the grounds, whereas last time, they were tumbling stunningly into the moat.

These days the moat is gradually filling with wildflowers as they develop. Beautiful too.

There was a lovely guy by the entrance who told me that there were a couple of places where you could see the poppies, near the exit at Traitors’ Gate. He was right.

My extras show the second place where you can see the poppies, and a close up.
