Working
Today I woke earlier and, after breakfast, thought through some ideas to put to one of my interns in a call we had at 10:00. I then caught up on some of yesterday's action in the team, including a discussion of the suggested flyer for our project that had been prepared by the School's media person.
The call of the sunny weather was irresistible, so I went out for a wander. I first had a look to see whether I could get the the base of the pointy end of Klakkur, but the only route was busy with lorries and equipment turning it into a road. I turned back and crossed Klaksvík to the park, walking up to the edge and over the fence via a stile. This gave me a view back over the town and familiar hills, with a summit of a big hill on Kalsoy popping up between Hálgafelli and Klakkur. Unsurprisingly, there was relatively little water in the two streams that flow through the park over some small pretty little waterfalls.
Not having been as high up on this end of town before, I briefly thought of hiking up higher to join a flatter area with some small lakes that I'd found last year. However, I had no food, water or sunscreen, hadn't had lunch, and ought to get back to work. So, I dropped back into town, and treated myself to lunch at the excellent café Fríða Kaffihús. Back at the apartment, I had a call with PhD student B, and then a nap, before getting back to work.
