Nicky and her Nikon

Poppy

I was very pleased to see that the few poppies I have in the garden are now blooming, and best to photograph them before the snails eat them!

I did not sleep well last night, tossing and turning and worrying about Gavin doing the long trip to San Diego. He is however very buoyed up by that possibly happening, and today seemed even stronger in his recovery. While I went to the hairdresser this morning, Gavin had a work zoom meeting (he feels he cannot just sit around) and then spoke at length to our travel insurance company. It turns out we have brilliant travel insurance. If we wish to cancel all the trips we have already booked before he got ill there is no problem to do so, and alternatively if we go on any of those trips he gets very generous medical cover, so that was all very positive to hear.

This afternoon I took Gavin for a haircut, it was very much needed, and afterwards we enjoyed a healthy smoothie at one of our favourite cafes. He so enjoyed getting out again and although walking slowly at least he is walking around much more now. This was followed by a visit  to the nurse for a wound dressing check. She has sent a prescription for an antibiotic to our local pharmacy so I will pick that up tomorrow morning.

When I had a mole on my face removed last September, and it was found to be carcinomous, I was told I had to get other moles checked every 4 months. This was done through the NHS but since then I have been unable to get an appointment to get checked. I have phoned a few times and was told they would contact me about an appointment which has not happened. As it is now 8 months since then, I decided to book an appointment with a private dermatologist, and that was achieved today.
