The Arch

Today's the day ........................ to construct

It all started when Will bought a couple of Laburnum plants at a recent Plant Fair in Kirkcudbright.

Ever since he saw the famous Laburnum Arch in all of its golden splendour at Bodnant Gardens in North Wales, he has been hankering after one for himself.  You also know how he likes to do his garden 'projects' using recycled materials from the store of stuff that he has gathered over the years?  Well, this afternoon he started making his arch using an old extending ladder that was no longer fit for purpose.

And this is it.  Obviously, it's going to be a fraction of the size of the one at Bodnant - and it's going to take a few years for the plants to grow and produce lots of flowers - but you have to start somewhere.  And if it's like most of his other creations, it will be magnificent.  Just one thing though, he was going to paint it black - but then thought that it actually looked quite original the way it was and eventually it will be covered with plant anyway.

What do you think ..................?
