Today's the day ....................... to swelter

It has actually been too hot for me today - and I know if I tell you southerners that the temperature soared to about 23°C, you'll laugh and say that's just pleasantly warm - but it was too much for me.

There are, of course, quite a few plants in the garden that are positively revelling in this unexpectedly long spell of early hot sunny weather.  The fig above is one of them.  And, when we arrived back from our little break away, we were absolutely delighted to see that the first Himalayan poppy flower (see extra) was on display, with several more large buds on the way.

So, I am in no way complaining about the weather, you understand - just trying to cope with it .......................!
