Proper Bedding

Ever since I re-entered the marital bed after my stay in hospital in 2023, I have had a nightly tussle with Len who insisted on hauling the duvet on to himself and cuddling it. This Spring it has come to a climax.

Photographs of beds in the media usually show a duvet that not just covers the bed but hangs over the side as well. I thought that might help. So I ordered an emperor size duvet. I had to wait until Baadiya came to help with stripping the bed and unwrapping the duvet. I've also bought bottom sheets with good grippy elastic which go round the covers. The elastic works very effectively as an anchor.

The duvet went on yesterday. It's wonderful! It covers both of us without either of us snatching for more. Plus it's smooth and feel silky, and doesn't need its own cover although it can be washed at intervals. If we lived in Morocco, I could put it out in the sun to air.

And best of all, it seems to have put paid to Len's night time agitation. He slept really well last night.
