Bearded Iris

The bearded iris in the garden have begun to flower. The flowers are so delicate. The buds look as if they have been wrapped in satin before they break out of their sheaths.

The sun has appeared again although there's a chill in the breeze when it blows.

George came and sorted out our kitchen fire alarm for us. I couldn't get the battery out. Then we went to the market for fish. The greengrocers' stall seemed not to have certain veg, like potatoes. Then we went to the Coffee Cabin at the Flower Lady for latte and cake and amused Roo by thowing his ball for him. Basil simply took it easy.

I persuaded Len we should go to The Outwoods in the afternoon, except that when we got there, the girl on duty had said she was going home at 3 pm because she was the only server on duty. Judging from the number of people who turned up after she had closed, she wouldn't have been overwhelmed.

Sorry about the pic. I did it in a hurry, and so didn't frame it right.

Back home, I simply gave in to my urge to read and studied my Kindle until 6.30 pm. I'd better go and see if I can give Len a hand.
