Old Friends
I have been growing Allium christophii for a long time, first in the Norwich garden and latterly here in Wales. An easy and obliging bulb, the starry flowers on large heads which extend as they run to seed to make a great dried flower feature. The one if surrounded by Nigella, Love in a Mist, which has seeded right across this raised bed. The allium too will set lots of viable seed. It is not difficult to raise from seed as I have done in the past but bulbs are widely available and give near instant results. From seed it takes two or three years to get flowers.
A steady but not busy day at Aber Cafe. I was feeling so-so again this morning but as yesterday, improved as the day went on. This evening a very midgey walk with J and the dogs - Bella needed a bath AGAIN - before a spell at pottery sieving a dipping glaze that we are reviving and making some more testers for this and other glazes.
A day guarding tomorrow but I have an excellent new assistant :-)
