Friday
Toby, the walk one in the middle, is walking from Hungerford RFC to Bath RFC.
I met him whilst out walking this morning.
Toby sustained a knee injury during a rugby match last year. This led to the discovery of cancer in his left leg and now he is raising money for several cancer charities.
He was chatty, engaging and smiley and told me that his chemo finished recently and he was excited about perhaps having eyebrows again.
I suspect he is in his late teens or early twenties. Life isn't fair.
Later, we walked down the road to collect marsh marigold from one of Jo's ponds. We had to bring it back in a wheelbarrow!
We didn't hang around but carried it straight down into one of the ponds in our cutting.
Extra is Jo's garden. Hard work for her. Roger used to do all the heavy stuff. It's a crazy, massive, idyllic space.
Beautiful weather.
