Palestine March
This was the Highland Palestine March in Inverness, that we took part in on Saturday. I wasn't able to post a blip on the day, although in fact I'm no good at posting at all at the moment.
It was an absolutely beautiful day. The weather made it feel like we were on holiday somewhere. The march went really well, I gather there was around 1000 attending it, and there were excellent, encouraging and inspiring speeches at the end of it when we reached the park. One of the speakers was a local Surgeon who goes out to Gaza regularly, another was an Israeli lady who served in the IDF but now speaks out against the actions of the Israeli state and their military occupation of Gaza and the West Bank. Another speaker is a Paediatrician at our local hospital who grew up in Gaza and still has a lot of family there who he is trying to help and support. You learn a lot from listening to these people, with their lived experiences of the situation in Israel and Palestine and their hopes for the future.
There are a couple of other unrelated photos in the extras: a Heron that was busy trying to fish along the Ness river bank as we walked back from the march, and a shot from my evening walk back at home. The trees are so beautiful at the moment and I've been loving the evening sunlight.
