Illuminating

First of all, thanks so much for all the lovely comments, hearts and stars for yesterday’s sunset set - you’re very kind!

This evening G’s orchestra is playing in a VE Day concert - I know this was last week, but Llandudno has various events this week too.

Held in one of the town’s large churches, Holy Trinity, peals of bells announce the concert, and members of the audience are welcomed by the very smartly dressed youngsters who belong to the local sea, army and air cadets.

It’s very well attended, and the orchestra plays a selection of appropriate music with style. There are reading taken from letters and diaries of local people relating their VE Day experiences, and there’s the inevitable audience participation in songs like ‘We’ll meet again’ and ‘The White Cliffs of Dover’. There’s even a close harmony trio singing typical toe-tapping 1940 songs.

Once again I find myself in a religious building with the evening sun shining through stained glass windows, this time illuminating a little lyre playing cherub - my main today - with a mono of the concert finale.
