A Day Away

Many a time and oft have I travelled by various means to and from Peebles, but never on a day when not one single cloud sullied a uniformly blue sky. It felt like I was  journeying through a completely different landscape as I bussed to the town for lunch with my Kelso friends. The trees and hills looked marvellous bathed in sunshine  and Peebles itself was busy with outside tables at coffee shops doing brisk business. 

I managed a stroll by the Tweed and a look round the High street shops before I met my friends for lunch at Coltman’s on the High Street. We meet up about twice a year and so there is much news to catch up on. 

On my walk by the Tweed I was surprised to find an elephant coming out of a stand of trees at the edge of the river. 

A lovely relaxing bus journey home in the afternoon in time for the TGIF drinks with the neighbours and there still isn’t a cloud in the sky.
