The Day after

With all the razzmatazz that goes with the  lively blip meet yesterday evening  of SooB, Magpie and me, people who have known each other for 16 years and met irregularly during that time, I was surprised to find sleep possible last night. However it was a fairly short sleep as I was awake again at first light and out of the door into sunshine and warmth at 5:30am. The bus shot down Portobello Road at great speed, tipping me out to the sand at 6:20. It wasn’t long before the 6:30  flock of BlueTits arrived but by that time I was beyond the breakers being bounced gently on the  high tide. It was a glorious solo swim and afterwards I caught the first of the only two #45 buses which serve Portobello High Street between 7am and 7:30 and was home before my neighbours had their blinds open.

Later while I was returning books to the little book box at the community garden in the Meadows I was asked by someone what the name was of this flower I have posted as my blip. I think he was quite impressed when I told him it was an Allium even though I had to look it up on my phone app.

Now I’m sitting once more in warmth and sunshine outside trying not to nod off. I admit to finding it a challenge.
