Garricks Temple to Shakespeare in Hampton

This morning I went  to a Pilates class and then met a friend and went for a nice walk with her dog along the river in Molesey alongside the Thames. This is looking over towards Hampton. The actor David Garrick built this temple near his house…seen on the right of the photo….he commissioned this in 1756 to celebrate the genius of Shakespeare.

We had a nice lunch and chat at the Molesey Boat Club Restaurant.

When I got home I then went to the allotment for a couple of hours. It is so so dry. I have watered an area and put up some stakes ready to plant out bean seedlings tomorrow. The ground was so hard and solid I had to hammer in a metal pole to make holes for canes. I have never had to do that before in previous years!
