Wrong tide state
Apologies for my absence from Blip over the past five days. There was no mobile reception nor wifi at our campsite from Monday onwards and I had failed to post this blip for the Sunday before we moved on. It will be a couple of days before I catch up and my comments may be limited.
The grey, overcast sky and forecast of showers gave us quite a different day after such a lovely Saturday. Nevertheless we decided to go for a walk around the spit of land close to our campsite so that we didn’t have to drive. Although the tide was low, Nick decided to take his fishing rod with him, just in case. Of course, having brought it he decided that he ought to get the line wet so Bertie and I waited patiently, until the rain started. Fortunately, it didn’t last long and gradually the weather improved as we continued our walk around Greysands Beach and on to Westward Ho Beach. Along the way we came across a group of A Level Geography students doing fieldwork and had an interesting chat with some of them and their teacher. According to them, the golf course we were skirting (The Royal North Devon) is the oldest golf course in England. After a late lunch at the Pebbleridge Kitchen we made our way back to the campervan.to prepare for leaving in the morning.
