Allium and bee
The silver trainers that I bought on Monday have given me a huge blister on my left heel. Even when covered by a Compeed plaster, it's very painful. I realised this morning that it would be impossible to walk to the gym. Instead, I rode my bike there, stabling it in Bruce's yard nearby.
Since I wasn't able to run on the treadmill at the gym, I spent more time around the pool today. My morning comprised pilates class (where I was introduced to the music of Milky Chance), swim, steam with Ali C, hot tub with Ali C, swim, and hot tub with Ali F. Ali C introduced me to the concept of 'Power of eternity' having dealt with someone on the phone yesterday who used the phrase three times, seemingly unaware that she was using mistaken vocabulary in such a hilarious way.
After lunch in the yarden, I first came indoors to catch up on admin, then returned outside to work on our tubs and plant pots at the front. I planted some white dahlias that Mr hazelh bought in LIDL yesterday, a few summer bulbs, and some seeds. Now we wait to see what pops up in the next few weeks. Meanwhile Mr hazelh went for a very hot run.
Katharine and Jack arrived just before 6pm for drinks in our shared garden. Then the four of us headed to Thamel for a marvellous Indian meal. I survived the walk there and back in sandals with the strap on the left heel very carefully positioned.
I blipped one of the alliums in our yarden, complete with visiting bee.
Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; pilates class; swim (46 lengths); bike commute to gym; very little walking (blister).
