Dusty Work!

The footbridge over Broadgate is now down! I'm not sure what time they started the work - it must have been quite early this morning. I'm sure nearby residents were delighted - especially those who had screens made of large planks just a few feet from their windows! They would be there for safety purposes though, not to stop them having a good view!

We walked down to see how the work was progressing after breakfast. The bridge was mostly gone by then of course. There were no central supports so it would go down quite easily once they made a start. Most of what was happening when we were there seemed to be about breaking up the huge pieces of concrete into rubble. I liked watching these huge metal dinosaurs chomping up and smashing the concrete, sending up clouds of dust in the process.
