Day in London - mainly because it’s about £40 cheaper for me to go and spend the day there then travel to Bracknell in the evening, than it is to travel there directly. Madness.
Got a slightly later coach than usual and it was much quieter, will remember that for future trips. Dropped my big bag off for the day at Victoria, then decided to walk instead of tube as it was such a nice day.
Had a coffee in Pimlico, then meandered to the Tate. Also lovely and quiet, spend a couple of hours wandering around.
I met Ma a bit later, she’d worked in the morning. We had some food from the market behind Festival Hall and ate it in the sun (lots of chips and halloumi covered in chimichurri). To the other Tate for a little look, and a carrot cake in memory of Jeanie who died 5 years ago, with a lovely view of St Paul’s.
We headed north, stopped at the Portrait Gallery on the way, and popped in a couple of places including the new IKEA on Oxford St.
Picked my bag up and headed home about 8, my phone died in the afternoon but I estimate about 30k steps.
