Broom (Not The Sweeping Type)

Spotted these bright yellow flowers while out for a walk this morning…the weather was dull and grey and the wind was still very cold.

Google suggests that this is Broom - and I have added an extra to show more of the tree/bush. It is growing in a small scrub area that was woodland until a  couple of years ago - when it was cleared because of Ash Dieback disease. Arms and camera were pushed through the fence to get the shots :-)

Some new trees have been planted - but they are still basically ‘twigs’ stuck in the ground.

We had a family gathering at our house today (kids and grandkids) as it is Mrs madwill’s birthday tomorrow. A barbecue lunch - which we were able to eat outside as the clouds suddenly lifted around 12:30 and it has been a lovely, warm sunny afternoon.
