Glad all over

It has been suggested that we’re mad. That’s as may be, but after a night at home we’re now in Edinburgh to watch a cup final… No, no - not that one. Actually we watched Crystal Palace beat Manchester City along with my son, daughter in law and grandson, with all the emotions (and the occasional expletive) we might have experienced at Wembley - if you’ve not followed this blip for long enough you may not know that this half of my family used to live just along the road from Selhurst Park. The flags in today’s photo show a little bit of South London brought to Edinburgh…

But back to us. Our concession to the proposal that we might be mad was to allow #1 son to drive over and pick us up at the ferry terminal, where we waited for him in temperatures that would have felt more suited to the harbour in Sorrento a week ago. So it’s actually been relaxing apart from the nervous energy of the match - and I dare say tomorrow will be even more stressful. Older grandson’s team (Spartans) are playing in the cup final for their group, so cross your fingers or whatever else you do to help them score… Remember: Spartans for the cup!
