Bucky Arrives!

After an exhausting 21 hour international flight from Orkney, Bucky the Duck arrives at Anchorage International Airport, Alaska!

Although suffering for some fierce jet lag, Bucky was happy to meet the Mayor of Anchorage.

The Mayor, on the right, somewhat bronzed from a recent vacation in Hawaii, presented Bucky with the traditional Alaskan greeting: an aircraft prop from a Piper Cub and an Eskimo prayer wheel. The prop is actually a set of little wings, so the traditional gift is often referred to as "a wing and a prayer".

Bucky was quite happy to receive his gifts. And then he was off to the Anchorage Tourist Information Center to plan his Alaskan adventure!
