Life in Sunny Dubai

(18/5/25)

After a productive morning (I chose the duration for the UK Visa and paid for it), I ventured out in the cool of the day to pay up for the date that I lost to Farzan (2.5.25). The original plan to go to Afrina for faloodeh changed, first to a new location which was close to Festival City. As we were in the "hood", I suggested having a shawarma in IKEA and then moving on for dessert. BAD IDEA. Festival City was heaving. So much so, I couldn't even get a space in the covered car park. The sun had set by this time, so parking outdoors wasn't an issue, but boy, was the mall crowded.

A shawarma at IKEA was soon scrapped in favour of a sit-down meal at the M&S Cafe. We then found the Katrina outlet in the mall (my blip). They have a nicely located spot, opposite Lulu, but I have a feeling that if they were twice their size, they would have a queue of people waiting to get a seat to enjoy the pastries/cakes/coffee they purchase. I had a pistachio eclair, and Farzan and her friend shared a honey cake.

Farzan was happy to be introduced to Katrina and enjoyed seeing the buzz in the mall, but was equally happy to leave it and head home. I finished the day managing to catch up with Thursday's and Friday's blips.
