Development

A couple of days ago, I posted a video of Xmas, who returned to his bed and was reinforced for that, when he found my training difficult and frustrating. 

This is something we have worked on since January and the purpose is to give Xmas a way to communicate to me, when I need to adjust my criteria as he's finding training difficult. 

The bed works well in some situations, but today we took the next step in this project. 

I put a target on.my angle and reinforced Xmas for doing a Nose touch on it. I stopped several times during today's session and offered Xmas the angle, so he could earn a reward by touching it.

I will continue to do so these next days and hopefully Xmas will realise that the target is always available, if he wants to be reinforced.  The idea is that if what I ask of him is too difficult, there's always an easier option available to him. Most likely he will choose the easier option, rather than get frustrated. 

This will give me a chance to adjust my training and make it easier/clearer.
