Fledgling

Haggis the hunter (first extra) found this fledgling in the garden this afternoon, but was content just to watch it.  I think it's a baby blackbird, because there was an adult blackbird making alarm calls just before this.   Meanwhile, Whisky just wanted her ball to be thrown.  We took both dogs inside to give mama blackbird space to sort out the baby.
We're now pretty sure that it was a starling fledgling.  Perhaps it had got wet, which made the feathers look make darker.
