Cycling and sheep
Mr hazelh and I set off on a cycling expedition this morning. We drove to Fife, parked the car in Markinch, cycled over the hills to Falkland, then looped back to the car again. The terrain was very varied from grassy banks and gravelled paths to metalled roads. We admired marvellous views of the countryside (once we had managed to negotiate our way out of the housing estates on the edge of the village!)
We purchased a wonderful lunch at the Townhouse deli and bakery in Falkland. We shared a steak pie and a coronation chicken baguette followed by a hefty chunk of rocky road. Our other stop was at Markinch parish church (formerly named after the C6th missionary St Drostan) to find out about its construction and look at the masons' marks scattered across the stones of the tower.
I blipped the sheep lounging in a meadow above Drumlin reservoir in the Lomond Hills Regional Park.
Exercise today: 27.5 mile bike ride.
