My emotional support chicken is coming on, although there are a couple of mistakes caused, I think, by my failure to understand the instructions! But it's a learning curve and the next one - yes it's addictive - will be better... at least I hope so because my friend Rhian would like one. Spot the deliberate mistake around the beak, I've no idea how/why that happened.
I got another packet of runner bean seeds, walked to the allotment and planted them, of the first sowings only one has survived. Then, at some cost to my back, I chopped off all the horseradish shoots (see extra) underground while waiting for the tap to be free so I could water. Everything else seems to be growing reasonably well, so far courgettes, pumpkins, broad beans, beetroot, mangetout peas, spring onions, red kale, gooseberries, blackcurrants and calendula!
