Resplendent
A cistus soaking up the sun. A settling in day today ... the weather was glorious, and we spent the afternoon in the garden. We had some head scratching about cars. The red one is booked in at the glass place tomorrow, and I needed to go to Paraza for my book group this evening. I drove Bruno the Peugeot back from the airport yesterday thinking there was enough petrol for today's short trip, especially as I could call in at the petrol station on the way there, so I didn't bother doing a detour to fill up. But this morning the low fuel light came on, the needle rested determinedly at the bottom of the scale, and he wouldn't even tell us how many km he thought he could do.
Eventually we decided to get the Fiat back from M's drive and I would go in that, armed with a jerry can to fill up on the way back. Preferable to running out of petrol en route. It did involve S spending a long time cleaning mud out of the jerry can -- don't ask. Book group at M's was lovely -- we were all there again, and she did us a lovely spread. We discussed The Wren, The Wren -- most of us liked it, and there was a lot to talk about. It's a grown-up version of a Sally Rooney novel. I filled both the jerry can and the Fiat on the way back, so we are ready to go for a busy day tomorrow.
