One bug, one flower, one photo -- the result of a hasty late afternoon blip hunt.

It's been a busy day. We discovered first thing that the car was not booked in for the glass replacement in Lézignan, as we had thought, but in the Narbonne branch. Somewhat annoying, but we adapted our plans and decided to shop in Narbonne instead. S topped up Bruno's tank and we set off in both cars, with a short detour to the petrol station for Bruno -- I had a very chilly drive down the autoroute in the Fiat with the wind blasting through the empty space where the window should be.

When we arrived at the glass place, the guy did a quick inspection. "The glass isn't broken -- it's just stuck in the door because the mechanism is broken. We can't fix that." Aargh! Two wasted car journeys. Let's move on to plan C. S drove home in the Fiat, via the local garage to see if Michel could do the job. I drove to Lézignan and did supermarket shopping plus multiple other errands. This took me till after 12 o'clock, so M. Picard came in handy for frozen instant lunch.

Good news: Michel has ordered the part for tomorrow. We had lunch, and then had a visit from the guy from the construction company we saw at the exhibition in Narbonne before we went away. We'd expected to do a site visit, but it turned out that this was not necessary, since he had already visited it with B, who is buying the plot next to ours and was the person who told us about the exhibition in the first place. He actually bumped into her on the square as he arrived chez nous :)

He showed us a proposal based on our conversation at the show. Our ideas have moved on a bit since then, and it didn't tick all our boxes, but it was interesting to look at and think through, and he explained how the whole project would work. Since he's done a proposal for B and J-C, and their ideas are very similar, we can compare notes!

There is big rain forecast for tonight, so our next job was to drive both cars back to Michel's garage and leave the non-weatherproof Fiat there so that it will be under cover and he can work on it tomorrow. Back home, out for a very short walk.  And chill!
