Sorry, more flowers!  Here's a very informative view of the potential site for our new home. Very important to know the direction of the prevailing wind, and it was blowing a gale today. You also have to bear in mind the midday sun and try to juggle shelter, sun, and shade.

This afternoon I went to the bank to talk finance. It took quite a bit longer than I thought it would, and my head was spinning when I came out. Not as much as S's was -- because I took so long he'd had to cope alone with the very full-on woman from the second construction firm we consulted at the exhibition. She was still there when I got back, and I felt more exhausted the minute I met her -- and a bit surprised at the number of times she said "Putain !" Definitely a local. I think she'd be a bit terrifying to work with, but we gradually warmed to her because she's very experienced, very focused on detail, obviously takes no nonsense from anyone, and won't mince her words if you ask for her opinion. Plus she'd got her pencil out and sketched a very reasonable looking plan, better than yesterday's. However she insisted that the plan of the site A-L has provided was de la merde and she needed a better one to work with. So we'll see how it goes from here :)

Dashed out for a blip at 6:30. We now need another chilled evening ...
