How now brown cow...owl

After a mega sleep last night, and a very lazy morning, I wanted to go Morrisons in case they had some more leggings in the sale, so I went the pretty way, up the gravelly road to Swanston, en route saying hello to a big Highland cow.

Leggings (and doughnuts) procured, I cycled over to Mortonhall golf course and took the track up and over to Mortonhall house, taking my time amongst the trees. I popped into the campsite to check inside a K6 telephone box,. I looked once before but didn't know what to look for; this time i quickly saw that it was made by the Carron Company. They fairly cranked them out, didn't they?

From there I rode through the nature reserve of Seven Acre Wood, presumably the bossy litttle holiday destination of Winnie the Pooh with his hundred acres. There are several rather lovely carved animals including owls, badgers, foxes and rabbits.

Back home for a long hot shower, tea and a catch up with lovely bestie.
