The power of drawing

I was surprised and delighted to walk into the Smith museum and see  an exhibition showing so much powerful draughtsmanship.

The Fife artist Dorothy Black is well known for her figurative work and the current show “Contour `Lines” reflects her interest in the human body along with her dramatic drawings of organic forms.

It’s a reminder of the power of drawing  something that is in danger of getting lost as we move into the digital world.
Spanish student Nora, from Stirling university, works as a a part time gallery assistant in the museum and agreed to be photographed with some of the work.

I could not decide whether to use the main image above or the one in extra.  Did I make the right choice?
“Contour Lines”, Smith museum , Stirling  from Wed- Sunday 10.am- 5pm. Until end of August.
