Resting
Today I worked until mid-morning, but was still tired from yesterday, so had a 30-minute nap and felt much better. I got to a convenient stopping point around 13:00, so went out to stretch my legs in the lovely sunshine. I needed bread, so went to Amarant - a café that does the baking for Klaksvík. I ordered fish and chips, eating it outside on one of their picnic benches, looking out over the southern fjord to the park (see extra).
Back in the flat, I spent the afternoon and early evening completing the coding project I've been working on for too long. There are still some issues to explore, but I have to move on to something else.
After a chat with A, I decided that I'd go up Klakkur, because I thought that there was a chance of a pretty sunset. I'd been following the light on the nearest high hill, and when it faded I thought that I'd left it too late - which was strange given the sunset time of 22:24. However, once at the Klakkur trailhead I realised that it was because the sun was setting behind the island of Kalsoy! I took lots of photos, but only a couple captured the light as I saw it. I probably should have stayed longer, since there was more general red in the sky by the time I was most of the way down into Klaksvík (see extra). Maybe I'll try again tomorrow!
