Gwaith yw Gweddi ~  Work is Prayer

"Dydw i ddim yn hoffi Gwasanaethau Traffordd" dwedodd y gyrrwr, "Rydw i'n mynd i ffeindio rhywle neis i stopio am ginio".

Felly dyma sut ffeindion ni ein hunain yn mynd adref i Gaerdydd trwy Abaty Tewkesbury . Mae rhaid i mi ddweud bydden ni'n cytuno, roedd Abaty Tewkesbury yn well nag unrhyw Wasanaethau Traffordd. Yn ogystal â gallu cael bwyd yno'r gallen ni hefyd ymweld â'r Abaty, y siop rhoddion ac y treulio amser yn y tiroedd yr Abaty.

Rydw i'n hoffi'r lleoedd cysegredig o unrhyw grefydd, lleoedd lle bobl yn mynd i anghofio eu hunain am eiliad ac yn meddwl am bethau ehangach a'u gofal am eu bodau cydweithwyr. Maen nhw'n lleoedd tawel, ac mae'n bwysig iawn y dyddiau hyn.

Roeddwn i'n hoffi'r Abaty yn fawr iawn yn wir. Roeddwn i'n arbennig o hoff o'r gwydr lliw, hen a newydd. Dyma lun o ran o un o'r ffenestri gan Thomas Denny (2022).

Roeddwn i'n hoffi'r geiriau St. Benedict 'Gwaith yw Gweddi' ('Work is Prayer') yn gwneud (making) bont rhwng bywyd ysbrydol a seciwlar.

Ac yna roedden ni'n ôl ar y bws i Gaerdydd. Mae'r gwyliau wedi bod antur ryfeddol.

"I don't like Motorway Services" said the driver, "I'm going to find somewhere nice to stop for lunch".

So this is how we found ourselves going home to Cardiff via Tewkesbury Abbey . I have to say we would agree, Tewkesbury Abbey was better than any Motorway Services. As well as being able to get food there we could also visit the Abbey, the gift shop and spend time in the Abbey grounds.

I like the sacred places of any religion, places where people go to forget themselves for a moment and think about wider things and their care for their fellow beings. They are quiet places, and it is very important these days.

I really liked the Abbey very much. I especially liked the stained glass, old and new. This is a picture of part of one of the windows by Thomas Denny (2022).

I liked the words St. Benedict 'Work is Prayer' making a bridge between spiritual and secular life.

And then we were back on the bus to Cardiff. The holidays have been a wonderful adventure.
