Wound up in Wexford

Duckett's Grove

A splendid example of style over substance.

We drove home from Wicklow today.  When looking at the route for potential stopping places, I found this.  Free to wander round - they were even doing free guided tours, but just starting as we arrived back in the courtyard after our self-guided tour.  Lots of info on the website I've linked.

Obviously the house itself - gutted by fire in 1933 - was not open to viewing.  But there were walled gardens, and a woodland area.  And a coffee wagon.

It was another very hot day, so we didn't have the energy for anything else, and drove on home, getting in a little earlier than originally expected, but not early enough for me to make it to the band rehearsal.
