AD1906. The Date On This Fireplace.
Another Sunday Afternoon of Guiding at Hill of Tarvit.
There are various dates displayed on the Fireplaces, Plasterwork and Ceilings in the House. There are the initials of Frederick Sharp as well.
This particular photo shows a view of the Great Hall as seen from the Volunteer’s seat. This was taken during a calm period in the flow of visitors to the Mansionhouse.
When visitors enter the Great Hall, it is the guide’s duty to rise, welcome the visitors and describe the main features of the Hall and then give a brief description of the other areas visitors can see.
Of course, will answer any questions the visitor may have.
The tapestry is 16th century and features The Greek Royal family surrendering to Alexander the Great.
