Roof held up on a Prop

Work started on our new conservatory roof and windows today. We’re swapping all the windows and doors on the back of the house from brown to Chartwell Green. These will match the colour of the summerhouse and sheds opposite. The windows were in a bit of a poor state, as is the conservatory roof, not helped by the previous owners housing a large hot tub in there (which we had to get rid of when we moved in). I’m looking forward to no longer having to clean mould off the window frames every few months. The before picture is in the extras.

The boys worked so hard, not stopping for lunch. All the windows are in now, the roof is being done next. We’re having a tiled insulated roof with a couple of Velux windows which should make it a lot warmer and still provide enough light for M to do his watercolour paintings.

Once it’s all done we’ll be decorating it and then we’ll enjoy the fun part, ordering some new conservatory furniture, and blinds of course.
