The Mary Rose
We went down to Portsmouth today to visit the Mary Rose* museum at the Historic Dockyards at Portsmouth. I'd not been there before and Marian had visited in the very early days of the exhibit. I found it very interesting.
I've added a couple of extras. One of the Spinnaker Tower and another of a trip hazard we encountered on our way from the car park.
*Mary Rose was a Tudor warship, said to be King Henry VIII's favourite. It was sunk in a war with the French in 1545. After tremendous searching and research, it was raised from the seabed 437 years later and the remaining timbers (perhaps half of the ship) were preserved along with many of the artefacts from on board and the surrounding area and returned to the dockyard where it was originally built.
