Ellesmere

Dad and I went for a walk in and around Ellesmere today. When we first arrived, the road was closed but I knew that we were close to the canal, which is where we wanted to walk, as I could see the sign. We pulled over and, after a bit of searching on Google, I set off for a car park in Colemere where we could pick up the path. Long story short, we were sent on a magical mystery tour down extremely narrow roads which took about 12 minutes and brought us out virtually where we'd started! At this point, I glanced across the road and saw a car park! 
Once we'd parked, we went through the canal tunnel and along the path into Ellesmere.  It was beautiful. We then walked to the mere where Dad treated me to lunch. The nest cameras were working and we saw 3 herons nesting. After lunch, we walked back to the canal path and returned to the car. It was lovely to get out in the countryside and spend time with Dad.
