Fifes of Fairlie

this yacht building company on the Clyde designed and built racing yachts started by the first William Fife in 1851 and carried on by his son then grandson well into the 20th century...
the main shows "Powerful" one of three gaff rigged racing yachts built to the same design in 1900 for three brothers who wanted to race each other...this yacht was then in the same family from 1940 until presented to the Scottish Maritime Museum Irvine in 2018 where it is seen today...
