Kyles of Bute

Kyle is Scottish Gaelic for a narrow strip of water (strait). Passing through especially the Narrows channel between the Burnt Isles is a favourite sail for passengers on the steamer Waverley seen here. Speed is reduced and great respect is always given to this passage.
