Life through the lens...

By ValC

Magpie murder.

Last night at dusk we saw a fairly large bird swoop past the window.
Then when we went upstairs we noticed a lot of feathers on the holly bush.
Come morning we realised that something had made a way into the holly bush where the wood pigeons have a nest.
Looking at this photo I can see a large black and white feather amongst all the small white ones.
So I am presuming it is a magpie that has got a young pigeon.
( photo taken through the bedroom window)
A bit later the two parents landed on top of the bush, both looking a bit bewildered.  ( see extra)
I really felt sorry for them.
Must say I certainly don’t like magpies at all.

Looking on the bright side, after a cool dull morning it has been a very warm sunny afternoon.
More washing done and dried, and more gardening.
I have nearly caught up now.
