World Bee Day
It has been another warm and mainly sunny day.
This morning I was back to Sit and Be Fit. Nice to meet up with everyone. The numbers were down, probably because of holidays. However it was better as we all had more room.
This afternoon I sat out in the garden with a book.
I was accompanied by the buzz of bees which was very appropriate for World Bee Day.
This one was collecting nectar from one of the many Welsh poppies which have sprung up everywhere while we have been away.
I don’t mind them but the only trouble is they seed into some of my pots, and it is very difficult to get them out, especially in amongst the agapanthus.
World Bee Day is celebrated on May 20th .Anton Janša, the pioneer of beekeeping was baptised on this day in 1734.
The purpose of the international day is to acknowledge the role of bees and other pollinators for the ecosystem.
Hopefully this weather is going to continue for a day or two, but isn’t looking too good for the Bank Holiday Weekend.
