Train Challenge No 15

Penarth Pier, South Wales 

With my BC friend, took the train into Bristol, a second train to Cardiff and then a short hop on a third train to Penarth.

The plan was to then walk along the South Wales Coastal Path, over the Cardiff Bay Barrage, back to Cardiff. But we decided we liked Penarth so much that instead we spent four lovely hours relaxing by the sea, enjoying the sunshine and the views across to the Somerset coastline and the islands of Flatholm and Steepholm. We managed to squeeze in a morning cuppa and a cake at the Pier Pavilion café, Welsh Rarebit for lunch at a seafront pub, and a 99 ice cream on the pier, all alfresco. In extras, views from the day.

Waiting between trains time = 51mins
Total journey time = 3hrs 11mins

(Difficult phone call with Dad this evening, am going to have to go in tomorrow to address my concerns.)
