Bits and Bobs!

Bus Stop Blossom

While waiting half an hour at the bus stop for a very late bus, entertained myself by taking photos of the blossom. Just as well, turned out to be the only photo I took today.

Arrived at the care home at 11am to find dad still in bed, in a right state physically (won’t go into details), with the curtains closed and the room stifling hot. I was livid!! Prior to his admission, had discussed his care and needs with multiple staff and was assured that everything would be put in place. Went straight to management who were equally unhappy that the carers hadn’t been following the care plan. He was so unwell due to the heat, so once things had been sorted I took him out to the garden to get some fresh air. When he’d recovered I returned him to his room so that I could then head into Bath for a lunchtime lecture. However, my cashmere cardigan and scarf were missing; the carer who’d cleared up the room had taken them and put them in the laundry with all the home’s other dirty washing. I was fuming!!! So I ended up spending most of the day with dad to try and reassure him and because I didn’t have anything to wear into Bath! Luckily I hadn’t bought my ticket in advance.

If I hadn’t gone in to see dad this level of “care“ would’ve continued with me none the wiser. I’ve spoken to my brother who’s going to lodge an official complaint for negligence. We’re paying a fortune for this. The whole point of respite care was to give me time to rest and relax; now I feel even more stressed than ever. And now I shall have to go back again just to make sure they’ve addressed the various issues.

And breathe…

Thank you so much for all your kind stars and hearts for yesterday’s day at the seaside; after today seems like a lifetime ago. I’d hoped to catch up with your journals this evening but after today I just need to try and switch off, sorry...
