Serenity

Freda came on the train from Sunderland today.

Before I collected her, I went to the tip with lots of recycling rubbish. Then I called in at Tesco because the water bottle for the windscreen was empty. There are so many flies killing themselves on the glass!

We had a coffee at the station and then drove to Talkin Tarn for a walk. It was much chillier than I expected. There were swans on the lake (look hard to see one) and lots of ducklings learning to swim.

We went to Brampton for lunch in the Howard Arms. It took ages because I ordered steak pie. Off the diet today. The food was good and we had lots to chat about.

We called into the parish church because Freda had never seen the Burne Jones stained glass windows. They are always stunning, even in a dull day.

Home for a cuppa then I put Freda on a train to Sunderland just before 4. I did my food shopping, filled the tank with diesel and had the car washed.

The new car wash is very slow and there was a queue. The insects won….
