Top-up Time
Had our COVID vaccine Spring Boosters this afternoon at the Gyle shopping centre. This is the first time we've been sent there and discovered the centre was unusually busy - we had arrived very early expecting to just walk in but there were lots of people seated in three areas but no apparent zones for waiting or post-vaccine. We went for our shopping and returned nearer our appointment time and it was still busy, checked in and found a seat.
Eventually I was called by nurse Norma, evidently now retired and working as a bank nurse for the vaccination programme, however I was surprised that she had to ask one of the other nurses, State Registered, for consent to proceed. Apparently she does this for each patient, not just for her shift nor indeed for her contract. What a waste of time.
And it also transpired that three of our near neighbours were at the same session at the same time, we could have shared a car, not all driven the nine miles there and another back, had we been informed.
But we're all done now, hoping we don't have any after-effects, we've caught up with TV quizzes so I'm off for an early night. Commenting catch-up tomorrow.
