Almond aqueduct
Whatever I ate yesterday (not much) didn't agree with me and I slept really badly, till I slept in. Guess what, no swim.
But I was awake enough to head west on the bus. It was a lovely quite, fast journey through on the top deck. I practised my subs fitted Wednesday, silently of course. I also read my Sandi Toksvig.
Lunch with A from CADWA. Curious experience in a nice, but expensive restaurant. It was cloudy and chilly when I arrived but had cheered up a bit when we emerged on to St Vincent St.
I thought I might get to see Y butt that was both to be so back to Edinburgh on a busier and noisier bus. The weather got better as we went east and was really lovely midway. I was in the front seat so a good view. But then we drove into cliff and by the time we got to Roseburn it was total cloud cover and chilly.
Took exactly 2 hours from the bus station to home. Watched the News (thank goodness some common sense seems to be to the fire) and then Chelsea which is a tonic compared to all the bad stuff that's around. Lovely flowers.
Then the Bombing of Pan Am 103. I'm finding it's making me quite emotional. I remember it well off course. I was driving back from delivering a Christmas present to Y's daughter when I heard the news, on Inverurie High St. Then S, who looked after the boys, had family in Lockerbie. They were ok but her uncle, who was in the police had to retire after the stress of all her had seen and had to do after three accident. It felt very personal and I had no idea the search area was accrued the secure of southern Scotland. Sobering.
I had a hot chocolate, made with the packet I found lurking in the cupboard. Hopefully it will aid sleep..
