Life's Little Moments

Reliable

When the day gets away from me, which this one has, Jax is always a reliable blip image.  In this shot, he had just secured the perimeter by chasing not one but TWO dangerous gray squirrels out of the yard.  I shudder to think what would happen if he weren't on hand to protect me.  Ha.

I had my regular quarterly visit with my rheumatologist this morning with no changes prescribed.  This is the longest period I've had of no pain since I was diagnosed, so I'm quite pleased.  And my liver function remains good which is always a relief since the anti-immune drugs can be hard on organs.  And, he said that I am okay to get the Yellow Fever jab (recommended for my upcoming trip to the Amazon) as long as I skip that week's dose of immunosuppressant.

I am still working on the images from the weekend and have done a deep dive into PS to remove a lot of irritating background elements.  I really do need to get better at PS and not rely so completely on LR.

In nesting news...the bluebirds are sitting on 4 eggs, a small brood.  One House Wren nest has 7 eggs (good lord, I hope she's done) and the other 6.  Those are normal sized clutches for the wrens.  And, breaking news - the tree swallows have made huge progress on nest by the front walkway.  This was the nest where the fight broke out yesterday afternoon, and today I saw the pair defending it again against a second pair.  I wish the second pair would go to Box 5.  And my little go-getter male house wren has reconstructed his dummy nest on Box 4, so I'm letting him have it.  Too bad, because it's a great box for the swallows, but I'm afraid I'd be inviting trouble to push this.

We are cooler than usual for the rest of the week, but I may try to get up to visit the martins again in the next day or two.  They will soon be done with their nest construction and then a few weeks for brooding before hatching starts.  Lots to keep me busy.

No horse or dog events for 3 weeks.  Gives me some time to figure out what I want to do differently.

xoxo
